#SultryListeners Audiobook Awards: The Winners Are In!
It is the moment we have all been refreshing our feeds for. After weeks of nominations, voting, and bracket battles that genuinely had me yelling at my phone, the #SultryListeners audiobook awards have their winners. A huge thank you to every reader, narrator, author, and blogger who participated. This community keeps growing every year, and it is such a thrill to celebrate the romance audiobook performances that lit up our listening lives.
What Are the #SultryListeners Awards?
For folks new to the party, #SultryListeners is a reader-and-blogger-driven awards program celebrating the best in romance audiobook narration. We do nominations, we do bracket-style voting on Twitter and our partner blogs, and we crown winners across genre categories. It is unofficial, it is loud, it is opinionated, and it is a love letter to the narrators who make romance audiobooks the magic experience they are.
And the Winners Are
Contemporary Romance
The contemporary bracket was brutal this year. The competition came down to a final round that had me texting friends in disbelief. Congratulations to our contemporary romance champion (and to every narrator who made the bracket). The performance that took home the win brought genuine emotional honesty and chemistry that practically crackled through my earbuds.
Historical Romance
Historical romance is so often a dialogue-heavy genre, and the winning narrator nailed every accent, every period detail, and every smoldering glance you could hear in their voice. A well-deserved crown.
Paranormal Romance
The paranormal bracket gave us shifters, vampires, and at least one very memorable demon, and the winner delivered a multi-voice cast performance that shows just how much craft goes into a great paranormal listen.
Erotic Romance
Erotic romance narration is its own art form. The intimate scenes have to land without tipping into parody, and the connection between characters has to feel earned. Our winner this year did all of that and more, and the swooning in our voting threads was real.
LGBTQ Romance
The LGBTQ romance bracket was one of the most-watched categories this year, and the field was incredibly strong. Congratulations to our champion narrator, whose performance gave us heart, humor, and chemistry that voters were vocal about. So many wonderful titles were nominated, and I hope folks dive into the full bracket to find their next favorite listen.
Romantic Suspense
Pacing matters in suspense, and our winning narrator had voters specifically calling out how they balanced tension with emotional connection. A masterclass in how to build a thriller listening experience without losing the romance.
A Few Personal Highlights
I want to call out a few non-winning performances that absolutely deserve your attention. The runners-up across every bracket were stacked with talent, and I hope the spotlight lifts all of them. If you saw a narrator make the semifinals, that is a strong endorsement. Add them to your queue.
