FitReaders Weekly Check-In: March 17, 2017
Happy Friday and a happy St. Patrick’s Day to all our FitReaders. The week brought some genuinely springlike weather to my corner of the world, and I took full advantage. How did your week shake out?
My Week
I had a much better movement week than last, which I needed. Final tally:
- Walking: 4 walks, about 11 miles total. Two morning walks, one lunch walk on a really nice day, one evening dog walk that turned into a much longer ramble than planned because the weather was perfect.
- Yoga: 2 sessions of about 30 minutes each. My usual at-home flow.
- Strength: 1 short session. Honestly, I want to do more of this and I keep finding excuses.
I am not at my goal weekly mileage yet, but I am consistent, and consistency over six months matters more to me than nailing one big week.
What I Listened To
Most of my walking miles this week were powered by a contemporary romance audiobook with a single narrator who I had not tried before. I was so charmed I extended my Tuesday walk by a mile because I did not want to take my earbuds out. Will write a proper review next week.
I also dipped into a nonfiction audiobook on my yoga days. Lower-stakes listening that I do not mind pausing for tree pose.
Cheers and Shout-Outs
A specific shout-out this week to everyone who showed up despite a tough week. Last Friday’s check-in had several folks owning hard weeks honestly, and I love that we are a place where “I tried, but the week beat me” is celebrated as much as a 30-mile total. Showing up is the whole game.
Your Turn
Drop your check-in in the comments. Share whatever feels true:
- Mileage, minutes, sessions, vibes.
- What you are reading or listening to.
- A win, a struggle, or a “trying again next week.”
- A goal you are working toward.
Then read a couple of fellow check-ins and leave some encouragement. The whole community works because we cheer for each other.
Have a wonderful weekend, FitReaders. See you next Friday.
